Allen Ballach brings over 25 years executive search and selection experience to the StoneWood Group. Allen was the founder and President of Allen Ballach Associates Inc., a respected executive search boutique specializing in senior level International engagements within the advanced technology, aerospace/defence and broadcast/communications market segments. Over his career Allen has conducted hundreds of board and C-level search assignments throughout North America and Europe. He brings an extensive global network of industry contacts, business knowledge and experience to StoneWood Group’s Aerospace practise. E.A. Clarke brings more than 25 years experience in Marketing, Sales, Operations and Human Resources to the StoneWood Group. E.A. has held a number of senior executive positions including Vice President Sales & Marketing at Level Platforms, President & CEO of NetActive Corporation, Canadian Channel Sales Manager for Fulcrum Technologies and VP Sales & Marketing at DVS Communications. As well, E.A. spent the first seven years of his career in Human Resource with Mitel Corporation. As an experienced entrepreneur, E.A. has built a reputation for innovation, customer sensitivity and results.

ROBERT HEBERT, Ph.D., Managing Partner, Toronto

Robert Hebert, Ph.D., is the Managing Partner of Toronto-based StoneWood Group Inc, a leading human resources consulting firm. He has spent the past 25 years assisting firms in the technology sector address their senior recruiting, assessment and leadership development requirements.

Mr. Hebert holds a Masters Degree in Industrial Relations as well as a Doctorate in Adult Education, both from the University of Toronto.

DAVE KING, Associate Partner, Ottawa

A native of Philadelphia, Dave has 25 years of international operational experience in the technology sector. As an executive in multinationals, Nortel and Newbridge Networks, and early stage companies, Dave has built teams in Europe, Asia and both east and west coasts of North America. Formerly the Chief Operations Officer and founder of Metconnex, he has also held VP level positions in sales, business development, marketing and product line management at Gridpoint Systems, Zenastra, Galian and Newbridge Networks.

Mr. King began his career in design, installation and product management at Senstar, the world's leader in outdoor perimeter security, now a member of the Magal Security Systems Group. He has installed security systems in classified military and civilian sites in North America and Europe which protect some of the world's most prominent people and assets.

Dave's technical and business expertise in electronics, photonics and semiconductors is helping to further grow StoneWood Group's CleanTech practice which has placed executives in areas spanning: services, efficiency infrastructure, power generation, energy storage, materials, recycling and waste and water. Mr. King is a member of Ottawa's CleanTech Initiative

Mr. King holds an Electrical Engineering Degree from Queen's University and an MBA from the University of Ottawa.

PAUL HUDSON, Partner, Toronto

Paul has eight years of international executive recruiting experience including six years with Russell Reynolds Associates. Prior to entering the search industry, he served as an infantry officer in the Canadian Forces.

Paul specializes in serving technology clients. He has worked primarily on assignments in the software, hardware and professional services industries. Paul has conducted searches across various functional areas, including general management, sales and marketing, finance and technical roles. His clients have included early-stage companies as well large, established firms. In addition to finding senior executives for technology companies, Paul conducts searches for senior-level information technology professionals.

Additional Professional Activities - Paul sits on the advisory board of an early-stage software company, is an active volunteer consultant with the United Way of Peel Region, and a member of the board of directors of the Chamber Music Society of Mississauga.

Education - Paul received his B.A. in psychology from the University of Manitoba, his B.Sc. in mathematics and physics from the University of Guelph, and his M.B.A. degree from Simon Fraser University.

Lenka M. Los is Vice President, Emerging Markets and joined Stonewood Group to spearhead the firm’s practice in Cleantech and Biotech, building on a body of work that spans many sectors including, Air & Environment, Water & Wastewater, Energy, Recycling & Waste Treatment, Wireless and Medical.

Lenka brings to the StoneWood Group extensive knowledge and experience gained in over 20 years of consulting, most recently with Heidrick & Struggles where she developed expertise in Life Sciences, Technology and Cleantech. Skilled at relationship management and search execution, Lenka has worked for clients on and off-site and has conducted a multitude of searches throughout North America. A true generalist, Lenka has conducted senior level searches for a diverse portfolio of clients in the financial services, retail and consumer sectors. In addition to Heidrick & Struggles, Lenka’s search experience includes roles with Highland Partners and Deloitte & Touche. Lenka also spent several years in independent practice providing career management to high-potential business professionals from top consulting firms and marquee companies.

Apart from her core experience in search Lenka has also held roles in industry. Lenka was a Field Director with Brendan Wood International where she conducted research in conjunction with BWI’s global intelligence programs. Lenka also spent a year as a Resourcing Consultant at CIBC, helping with the implementation of Six Sigma processes in Retail Markets recruiting.

Lenka is a committed supporter of Kids Help Phone, Canada's only national, bilingual, 24-hour, toll-free confidential and anonymous phone and web counseling, referral and information service for young people between the ages of four and 21. For three years she chaired the Being There for Kids Breakfast and is now an ambassador at large.

Lenka studied at the University of Windsor and earned two Honors degrees in History and International Relations.

Tom is an experienced search consultant with more than 20 years of successful top-tier consulting and business leadership. With over 14 years in executive search, Tom has extensive senior level executive placement knowledge and has led consulting engagements assessing the human capital skills required to lead businesses. The focus of his search work has been the placement of “C” level executives and board directors, for small-to-mid cap companies across a variety of industries throughout North America. In addition to executive placement, Tom has led executive assessments, both pre- and post-acquisition, for businesses experiencing significant change events. Prior to joining the StoneWood Group in Vancouver, Tom was the founder and managing partner of Tom Summers & Associates Inc., a consulting firm providing specialized services in executive assessment, coaching and search. Concurrently, he also was the Canadian Partner for Cleantech Search. Prior to establishing his own firm, Tom was a Managing Director with Korn/Ferry's International Search Practice and one of four leaders of the Korn/Ferry Leadership Development Solutions practice in the Americas. He began his search career as a partner with Pratzer & Partners Inc. with offices in Toronto, Chicago and New York.

Tom has a diverse career, which included spearheading the turnaround of a private small-cap business and several years as a management consultant with A.T. Kearney. His career began at Procter & Gamble.

Tom has served as a board director for a public and private company and assisted not-for-profit boards with human capital assessments.

Tom holds a B.A.Sc. in engineering and an M.B.A. from the University of Toronto.

Leigh has over 25 years experience in executive recruitment. Previously, he managed his own search practice under the name Snowdon Walsh Partners. Earlier in his career he spent a number of years with AT Kearney Executive Search.

Leigh’s search activities have been exclusively in the high technology sectors with considerable focus in the telecommunications sector. His client list includes telecom service providers (major ILECs, Wireless Service Providers, CLECs, U-telcos, Cable MSOs and other Alternate Carriers), as well as product developers/manufacturers/vendors and systems integrators. The clients have included every model of organization from large, ‘blue-chip’ multinationals to small entrepreneurial start-ups.
